Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration for Scalable Breast Cancer Care
Themes: Sustainability, Innovation & Scalability
Breast cancer in Botswana is often diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to high treatment complexity and mortality rates. Limited diagnostic capabilities and fragmented services highlighted the need for a more efficient and coordinated care system.
A collaborative breast cancer care pathway connected pharmaceutical companies, private healthcare providers, patient advocacy groups, and academic institutions to enhance early detection and streamline treatment.
With over 1,100 clinical breast exams conducted and a significant percentage of diagnosed patients receiving timely treatment, this model demonstrated the power of cross-sector collaboration in improving healthcare outcomes.
